Modern Day Lakeside (Cloned Route)

Hey everyone!

I'm working on putting together a modernized version of the Lakeside Route. My vision has the the railroad reborn as a tourist operation with some light freight traffic. In order to bring the railroad up to date, I'm going to need to use some assets from other routes (my asset creation skills are no where near up to this level). I plan on using the RCAP assets, but my question to everyone is what other routes do most of us have so that I can use some of the assets from those routes and still make the clone route available to everyone without the need to buy additional routes just to have the assests.

I'm thinking that most of us probably have the following routes:
Portland Terminal
Horseshoe Curve
Donner Pass
North Eastern - PA Division

I'd also like to reference the Steven's Pass and Marias Pass Route assets but i'm not sure how popular these routes are...do most of you (us) own them?

Just a suggestion to allow the most people to be able to run your version, keep the pay ware assets to a minimum. If you look at the one we are doing we have 4, HSC, VNH, Portland & the lakeside route. as I said just a suggestion. good luck with your project..

Work on the route is progressing. I have limited the required assets thus far to RCAP, Portland Terminal, and a couple scenery packs from the file library. Here is some of the progress thus far...more to come.

Some more progress for those who are interested...

The large wooden coaling tower in Waterton was lost to a fire just a few short years ago.

Because of the loss of the coaling tower, a conveyor is now used to load coal into the tender of the steam locomotive.

Tracks 5 and 6 in class yard are used for storage for passenger equipment and historic freight equipment used on photo charters (as well as pieces awaiting restoration)

Most of the main crossing have been upgraded with modern crossing protection

The wooden highway bridge in Riverside is now long gone; replaced with a modern steel and concrete structure which was raised to accommodate double stacks to pass beneath on the mainline.
