RWA passenger traffic

Unread postby windberg » Sat Jul 19, 2014 4:52 pm

I added platforms and a few people from the Horseshoe Curve at the stations. Now it is possible to operate passenger trains on the RWA. It is really simple, everyone can do this with the Horseshoe Curve platform loft. Are there wishes for publishing it or will interested people do it for yourself?

No problem, I will publish it, the only needed DLC is the Horseshoe Curve. I believe I can not pack a .rwp file with the complete route. What way can we go Railworks America? What files can I upload?

Last night I worked through the branch line and added here and there a few things. But I do not have much knowledge about US railroading (typical track formations, signalling). Is a shunting neck at a station prototypical? I added one at Riverside. Can I declare all RW&A tracks at Riverside as yard and positioning the Yard Entry sign near the two points from the main line and in front of the wye?

Can anyone write me the second line names of the platforms of the original route please? I rename them back and I hope that with this all original scenarios will work. What a pity, my email account is down at the moment. Please do not write me any email because I can not read them.

Last but not least can anyone tell me how I can add a buffer with the RW&A track please?

Windberg, what you needed to do was start with a cloned copy of the route. It would then be in a separate folder from the original route. That way you will have your own version. Then all you upload is the route itself with no assets unless you added more to it, then we would need them or reference to them if they are a payware asset. We can't just replace the files in the original route with yours as all the scenarios would break. That's what is being done with the LS&W addition, it will be another route all in itself but using the original route's assets and some other stuff he added.

I cloned the route as Waterton Riverside & Atlantic and I have a few questions. Is the water crane at Waterton useable? I tried to fill the Smokebox Consolidation 3 times but I failed. I add a Picture from Riverside. I can not activate the gras and bush assets under the telegraph line on the right side. Do anyone know the reason? I would like lower them because they are in the air after my rebuilt. My last question, what sense make the first Semaphore after the Riverside Station? There is a ground light signal at the Point of the wye and I do not understand the meaning of this semaphore.

I tried to create a passenger scenario and found out that it is impossible to do a passenger stop at the south main line at Waterton Station. I tried everything to get it working. I even rebuilt the RWA part of the passenger station. If anyone has a suggestion it is very welcome.

Please be more specific about the problem: what have you tried doing and what hasn't worked? For example, is a passenger platform marker present?

Every passenger stop has a platform and a platform marker. The version I uploaded has working platforms for the RWA branch line and for the main line to the north. There is also a platform with a marker at the main line to the south but it is not possible to select the green marker in the scenario builder. I rebuilt the hole station with one platform between the main line to the south and the branch line, I shortened the main line to the south platform that the branch line and the main line to the south platforms are separated, I built platforms left and right from the track, I deleted all main line track and built only a branch line platform with marker, I did all what I know to build a working passenger stop but nothing worked. Even the single branch line platform was not selectable in the scenario builder after the rebuilt. The same problem at Riverside. There is also only one main line platform useable.

Plus I tried to build a working water column at the Waterton shed and at Adkins with the wooden water tower and with the water column. All do not work too.

After a lot of testing I solved the water problem. The water column at Waterton shed do not work but disturbs other water sources. I deleted him and placed the HSC water supply. Now the Consolidation gets the needed water. The wooden coal tower works very well.

I understand the caboose working at the original RW&A at Waterton now. I will backbuild the yard ladder and reinstall a RIP track. Can anyone explain me the meaning of a RIP track please?

I uploaded version 1.2. All you need is the RWA and the Horseshoe Curve. The main line platform problem is not solvable. I will not change anything until suggestions come in from the forum. I hope you have fun with my small additions.

Thanks Chacal for the explanation of RIP track.

I cant stop to change the track. The RWA can now handle incoming iron ore from the mainline at Waterton. Another idea is an iron ore yard for the Waterton Harbour Railway. At the moment the RWA shunts the dock but ...

If anyone can help with the platform problem please add a hint.

As a young boy, I was one of those chaps who enjoyed taking apart a clock to discover how it worked. Of course, what I almost always wound up with was a lot of interesting bits and pieces that could never be put back together again to reproduce a working clock.
