RWA Lakeside LS&W Expansion ( Cloned Route)

Hello All, I have been busy working on a expansion to the RWA Lakeside Route, I thought I would share a little info and a few pictures of the pending release. First this is a cloned copy of the RWA Lakeside Route, I did not alter any of the original scenarios, or any of the Author's original work such as scenery placement etc. I did however make a few slight changes to the tracks on the SW corner of the route. The 2 track siding was extended and became the RW&A, LS&W Interchange Yard, just east from there is the LS&W Wye the start of the LS&W. The line runs NNW thru Hermantown where it splits, the Green Mountain Sub Division heads to Saginaw City , Home of the Green mountain RR, & The Green Mountain Coal Co.
The West Carlton Sub continues on and connects with the Northern Pacific's lake Superior Division. At this point it is about 65% and with the Holiday weekend coming up I hope to send out a few copies for testing by Fri Night. here are a few screens of the Route In progress.

Looking Good! In the tradition of the Big Sandy Subdivision...can't wait to get my hands on this RW&A clone route to run. Neat idea expanding off the outer loop. I had not thought of that option.

I agree, this is a nice addition. Good job!

The name "Lake Superior and Western" was made up rather hastily shortly before the route was released, as was its rather dull paint job. We think of the LS&W as the "shoreline" route. The "Wisconsin & Upper Peninsula" was similarly conceived, but I think the paint job looks better. The W&UP runs inland along the west side of the route. Maybe. Aside from those two totally fictitious railroads, and as long as we're on the subject of my RS-1 repaints, the Green Mountain is of course the former Rutland Railroad which runs mostly in Vermont. That doesn't mean there couldn't be a place called Green Mountain in the U. P. After all, it's possible to visit Paris, Norway, Mexico, Monterey and Florida all in the same day without ever leaving New England.

I am presuming that it will be free however you will have to own the RWA route to use it.

Thank You for the Kind words, I really hope everyone likes it..
Yes it will be released as a free add on, However you will need to own the RWA Lakeside route as Buzz stated. Also I tried to use only assets that were free ware, and those that came with the route. But with almost 40 miles to the Coalmine there are just so many free ware assets available. I did use and you will need RSC's HSC I needed it for the 56 chevy's you got have a few old bowties running around. Also My two most favorite routes The Portland terminal, & the Springfield Line. Much of the scenery houses buildings etc. come from these two routes. They are exceptional.
Free ware assets include Stuff from GreatNorthener, NRD, SMM , UKTSFP, RCAP & 3Dtrains. Along with all the other many free ware assets available.
A couple more shots of the mine ..

I finish up work tomorrow for the week. I will put together a doc to teach you what to do to pack up the route. Making a clone was the way to start so your off to a good one. Screenies look good too!

Looks great....

I am still trying to get the yards at Waterton modded in my version so that there is access from both directions, but the switch adding is still defeating me *!embar*!

Can I put in a request for steam service facilities in this extension - need to be able to coal and water the coal drags...

*!!thnx!!* and looking forward to its release...

!*cheers*!

There is both a coaling tower and water at the yard in Saginaw City, along with the Big Boy turn table to allow running some heavy steam. I'll make sure there is also water & coal on the RW&A end, so you will be able to service your loco before heading either direction on the RW&A line.

Please consider getting permission to include all of the freeware objects you use in a single RWP installer, just as the original route is packaged. Doing so not only saves players time and energy, but also allows for a quick and clean removal of the expansion route later. Thanks.

Once I get the document form Bob, I will look at doing so. I really had not planned on releasing any of the free ware assets with the route, Just a list of what I used most are the most popular ones and I had figured that most players already had these installed. But again I will look into packing all them up and trying to get permission from all the different authors..
