RW&A free roam crashing

hey everyone I'm having a bit of a problem. any time i try and use any loading or unloading (fuel pump,water tower, coal drop off, and so on) in free roam the game CTD. oddly if I go and make a scenario with instructions to use any of them it has no problem.

just a little update. If I use the keyboard commands "T" and "shift T" it works with no problems. It only seems to crash when trying to open "task log" on the HUD
