Does anyone know how to get a better sounding EMD recording applied to these locomotives without tons of editing? I love the unit.... but they sound like a stationary generator.

Thanks,

Galen

The GP20 from Repo uses a turbo 567 prime mover like the SD35. Maybe port over those sounds over? Not sure what is involved, but from what I remember those sounds were pretty good. Another option would be to use Searchlight's SD40-2 or F45 sound enhancement packs. The turbo 645 is pretty close in sound to a turbo 567.

The sounds used in the SD35 are those previously used in the GP20.

My apologies for bumping a necro, I am just trying to avoid opening a new thread on the same subject.

The GP20 and SD35 (B&O MtSub) sound exactly the same, i.e. there seems to be no transition engine sound between notches.
All YT videos featuring TSC gameplay with any of these two sound the same, so it's not just on my end.
All YT videos featuring RL GP20 and SD35 clearly show engine sound transitions between notches.

Is there a solution to this?
Otherwise, I will never drive these locos again.

Thanks in advance.

I'm speechless at your last sentence but be that as it may be what are YT videos?

I believe it’s shorthand for YouTube.

Of course it is. Duh. I spose it was too much work to spell out you tube.
