Are you asking about multiple horns on the same skin? Or a different horn for different skins?

Example 1: WP GP9 has a P3 AND a P5.
Example 2: WP GP9 has a P3 and SP GP9 has a P5.

I think he's asking how to have two different horn sounds on a locomotive, similar to how horn quilling is done.

Ya beat me to it!

Biddydog: The reason I ask is between the two, the solution is drastic. The 1st involves adding another key to the map, creating horn control file, etc. The 2nd is just changing what horn control file is referenced in the loco bin.

The second option would be easier....

Do you use RWTools or Serz to edit .bin files?

Same here...

Copy these three files: GP9 Horn.bin, GP9 Horn.xml, and GP9 Horn Sound.bin. Rename them to whatever you choose (ex. GP9 Horn P5). Now run the GP9 Horn Sound [New Name].bin through Serz to create an .xml file to edit.

Once inside the GP9 Horn Sound [New Name].xml, scroll down unit you see this line of code:

<ProxyName d:type="cDeltaString">RSC\GP9Pack01\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\GP9\Cab\GP9 Horn</ProxyName>

Change it to read your new GP9 Horn [New Name] file.... (ex. . . .\GP9 Horn P5</ProxyName>). Save and run the file through Serz again. Now, open the GP9 Horn [New Name].bin and change each line to read your new horn-sound files like you would any other time you change a horn.

Once complete you should have a separate horn to add to any locomotive. Pick a locomotive (I will use the Rock Island as an example) that you want to use your new horn on. Go to . . .\GP9\Rock\Engine and open the GP9_Rock.xml.

Inside, do a search for "horn sound" by using the "find next" function until you come across this line of code:

<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\GP9\Cab\GP9 Horn Sound.xml</BlueprintID>

Change the code to read your GP9 Horn Sound [New Name].bin (ex. . . . \GP9 Horn Sound P5.xml</BlueprintID>). Save and run through Serz, and you should be set...

How do you change the horn using RWTools when trying to have multiple horns on a single locomotive?

Pretty much the same concept when editing the .bin file and changing file paths. When using RWTools, you can cut out the parts that involve dragging the .bin files into serz and editing the .xml file. RWTools lets you just edit the .bin and save.
