Krellnut sounds for the TS2016 Sherman Hill

One of the best parts of the TS2016 content has been for me the Krellnut sounds for the Sherman Hill cars.
Sometimes I cross with another train and will stay aside the tracks just to listen to those extraordinary noises.
I watch frequent railfan videos at YouTube of freight trains and I can see those SH sounds are much alike those videos.
I believe they were also updated in Norfolk Southern CD and maybe somewhere else by TS2016.
I am aware there are some sound mods by himself here in RWA but I have heard about a payware (or donationware) version of those noises that can be used to mod other routes cars in TS2016.
Can you tell me if there is in fact the pay version I talk about?

It's not payware, it's freeware here in the file library.
This is the basic pack and there are add on's for Soldier Summit etc.

Thank you.
I guess I misinterpreted some information and I though there was also a payware version somewhere else.

The new Sherman hill bogie sounds won't be heard though.

That is correct. Even though I did supply the sounds for the bogies, those sounds are not in the pack. Adam at DTG did an awesome job with the bogie sounds.

Kudos to Adam. I am trying to find a way to install the bogie sounds to all the existing USA freight equipment. Maybe they can have the files point to the freight bogie sounds of Sherman Hill.

I am somewhat confused, I thought we downloaded the sound pack and add it to whichever routes using the editor and the checkbox for WJ Sound? Thats what I have done for Surfliner and Marias pass, is ti different now? Need to download per each route?

No you don't however if you want to use his sounds you need to alias to them for each set of rolling stock.

I think it's worth clarifying that there are TWO aspects to the wagon sounds . . the bogies (i.e basically the sound of the wheels on the rail) . . and the "rumble, drumming & squeak" produced by the wagons as a whole and almost amplified by the body shells.
I know that many know this, but maybe not the OP and others?
While the bogie sounds can be anything from passable to very nice on various developer-produced models, for me it is that "rumble, drumming & squeak" noise, with the intermittent rattle and bad axle box, that is so superb with the Krellnut sounds, and simply poor or non-existent on many original developer-produced models. They make me want to just sit trackside and watch a train go by, just as in real life. I've missed many signals because I have become too immersed in those sounds!

I am actually in the process of applying these bogie sounds to all my North American freight wagons. If someone wants to release a mod like that applies those sounds then they are more than welcome to. I do not own every piece of North American DLC, so this will be a tedious task knowing the exact file paths of the bogie sounds.

I do fully agree with you in everything you are posting. I am the first to confess that I didn't know the sounds were actually a pair of sets.
There is no doubt in my mind that these "rumble, drumming & squeak" noises (as you describe them) is one of the very best events that has happened to Sherman Hill (and NS Coal district).
About the Krellnut sounds, chapeau

http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... =25:soundsThis should get most everything that was done up to the first of this year. With DTG putting this stuff all over the place in all of these different packs each using it's own audio some items might have been missed. As far as being tedious all of us understand this but instead of complaining about it why don't you offer something to the community and make up a installation program to do this? Several of the odd balls are already listed in the library done by those of us who have dealt with the 'tedious' task of finding this stuff and applying the fix.

The Krellnut sound mod has the wagon sound only, which I already have. What I am trying to do is release a mod that will install the new BOGIE sounds to every North American freight DLC, but the bottom line is that I do not know all the Audio/RailNetwork/Bogies or Audio/RailVehicles/Bogies paths are as every DLC pack can have a different location of BG_Modern.proxyxml. That is because I do not own every piece of route or loco DLC that is North American; the new bogie joint sounds are not present in the link to the Krellnut sound package.

If I get home at a reasonable hour tonight let me try to deconstruct the last release of the Krellnut sounds plus the other patches I have published and see if I can give you some direction so maybe we can piggyback the boggy sounds into at least most of the rolling stock. Sometimes I wish I would have kept close records on all this because between being a beta tester for Wally and just adding my own modifications whenever I found wagons that didn't have WJsounds I am not sure what all has been covered. I think we can work through this. I hope anyway.

With that in mind it's best to make no modifications to the bin files of the freight wagons. The BG_Modern, BG_Steam proxyxml files are the ones looking to be replaced (Some DLC packs such as Donner Pass have BG_Modern in both RailNetwork/Bogies and RailVehicles/Bogies). I essentially copy the entire FreightBogies audio folder to the respective DLC pack (Maria's Pass for example), and then I place that folder into Audio/RailVehicles/Bogies and then move the FreightBogie.proxyxml file to replace BG_Modern. The locos of Maria's Pass have their own local bogie sound folders, so the freight bogie sounds will only be emitted from the freight wagons. However, there are some occasions the new freight bogie sounds will be emitted from the locomotives (Kuju DLC)
