I could find no reference to the WJ Sound folder. I am mighty confused now !**conf**! Which goes where?

I'm only pointing out, not laying blame, but Ken did all the DLC paths. He has ALL the US DLC. So he offered to do this for us. If he actually tried each path in game, I don't know. If there's problems people will post what it is, and we'll get it fixed. So far I think this pack is more trouble free that some of DTG DLC!

Go look at something that makes sense like the RSDL Audio bin file. Open it up and that's what you should be seeing to make all these obscure cars in DTG various folders work. That is the key. Make the vehicle bin point to the audio that says something like what is there. I have no clue why DTG didn't make all these things the same. I just alias everything back to the Kuju files when I run into this or just don't use their stupid cars but I suppose for those of you that want to run career scenarios and want to have the sound will need to fix these paths.

Just to reiterate (something I think most of us feel), thanks to krellnut and ken for your efforts, they are much appreciated. Minor issues are really non-issues to me...

For me these sounds make the game enjoyable, without them half the fun would be gone...now if only I could convince him to make bogie run sounds for loco's :D
Many thanks to all involved for all the hours of enjoyment I will and have had with the sound pack.

I've never worried about the occasional car that doesn't have the sounds. I've noticed in real life railroading, a person occasionally runs into a train that really is "silent death".
Sometimes it's a unit train that has new wheel bearing covers and wheels under it, obviously recently serviced at a facility somewhere.
So therefor, when I run into quite cars in a mixed consist, I don't let it bother me.

A few months back I saw a train of tank cars all obviously new, not a bad wheel in the entire consist, it was amazing how quiet it was. It went by at at least 50MPH on the UP which has near perfect welded rail on this stretch.

I've seen the same thing on the Trans Con in Flaggstaff AZ. Most of the owners must take impeccable care of the unit tankers. You just hear a sound, kinda like a knife being drawn across a sharpening steel. No rattling brake gear etc. When those kinda trains come down the right grade, without dynamics... that's where the term "Silent Death" comes in. *!greengrin!*
You have to listen for singing rails.

I just ran a scenario from the workshop that uses the BN Wagon Pack from the marketplace and they still have the original sounds. I looked through the folders in your Wagon Sound Pack and there is no GreatNortherner folder, so I guess they weren't included.
Is this something that can be added fairly easily?

The reason I didn't include changing Micheal's sounds is because he is also using custom sounds and I didn't think it appropriate to just change his work. If someone wants them changed, I can help out.

Krellnut

I remember that I spoke with GreatNortherner about his wagon sounds when VNHRR was released, IIRC, He told me that his sounds were adapted from his MSTS sounds collection. He said he would consider improving his sounds suite.

Is it possible for you to offer your collection to him and to collaborate with him to improve the GreatNortherner sounds?

Your 2015 sounds are superb!!! I cannot believe the immersion, particularly while yard switching.
