Buzz, the files are copyrighted and shouldn't be distributed.
Cheers!

I suppose technically you are right Hack although i was led to believe that these were part of the default game like the F7 itself. No?

Plus these sounds are currently unavailable to the public through both payware and freeware.

Which might have been Hack's, right? Or was it only the Warbonnets that were sold for RW2?

Anyway, how can locomotive sounds be copyrighted? They are neither original musical compositions nor musical recordings. If the 'recording artist' acquired a written permission from the railroad to enter their property, was met by some official taking him down to the engine house were a loco stood waiting with an engineer in the cab, I can imagine his recordings could be classified as 'original artwork'. Oovee Studios and Armstrong Powerhouse probably operate this way, but most horns and sounds seem to come from Youtube recordings made by others?

Back to topic, anybody who bought RW2 back in the day is entitled to use the sounds, even if the game is no longer on their harddrives anymore? If you kept the DVD's the game is still in your possession, if you kept the receipt (and Steam probably does that for you) the game is still in your possession.

I don't know why, but I feel that something about your payware set is slightly different than what came with the Kuju assets...

The default RW2/TS2010 F7s had some modeling and mapping issues that were corrected for the Steam/3DT ATSF F7 release. Other than cab textures and a non-working wiper on the Kuju and Steam offerings, I don't recall any other differences.
Cheers!
