Clone for Repaint issue (Error 53)

Unread postby MontanaRails » Sat May 30, 2015 5:34 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm having a bit of a problem cloning a locomotive to repaint it. I unpacked the Soldier Summit route, made sure all files were read/write, and went through the steps to clone the locomotive. At which point, this happens:

After this error, RW_Tools promptly freezes, and then Windows Explorer also freezes, crashes, and re-initializes. All my open folders close. When I try to go back into the unpacked route (navigating the folders), Windows Explorer freezes again. The only thing I can do is delete the entire unpacked route. Then everything seems ok. So clearly something is getting corrupted when this Error 53 occurs.

I'm running Windows 8.1 (64 bit), the latest version of RW_Tools (just did another fresh install) and running it as an administrator.

I'm stumped. !*don-know!*

For some reason, you have apparently not used RW_Tools to unpack your SoldierSummit assets, but have used some other program and placed them into a folder named RailWorks\Assets\DTG\SoldierSummit\Unpacked\RailVehicles - so none of the Scenarios or any other program would be able to find the rolling stock.

As with any other downloads, the assets should be in something like RailWorks\Assets\DTG\SoldierSummit\RailVehicles - the reason you are getting the Error 53 is because the scenario is looking for the loco in the correct folder, not one named 'Unpacked'
