Career scenarios conversion to standard scanarios with RWTools (latest

Unread postby glenn68 » Tue Sep 23, 2014 5:03 pm

How can a career scenario be converted to a standard scenario with the latest version (6.0.10) of RWTools?

Thanks,
Glenn

Hi Glenn,

You can't convert a Career scenario directly to standard - this is to prevent users editing the scenario to get better marks when playing the scenario.

So what you need to do is to clone the scenario with a new name in the 'Check Routes/Scenarios' screen, e.g. I cloned 'Along the Kicking Horse Pass' scenario in the CP route by just adding #2 to the name.

Then go to the RW_Tools scenario editor and select 'Along the Kicking Horse Pass #2' for editing. You will be told it is a Career Scenario and to clone it, but you have already done that, so the editor will open, and the buttons at the bottom will show it as a Career Scenario. Click the button beside 'Standard Scenario' and once again you will be told to clone the route, just click OK - make sure the button beside Standard Scenario is still selected and click the button 'Save changes to Scenario'

If you now attempt to edit the scenario it will act as a standard scenario and you can make changes as you wish - I changed the CP locos for CSX ones as under and the scenario now works fine.

Mike,
I will give that a try tomorrow. I wanted to make some career scenarios into standard so I can do what you had done.

Thanks,

Glenn
