Comments, Questions, and Hello

I didn't see an "Introductions" forum for saying my first hello, so let this serve the purpose.

While it took a bit of "going off the reservation" to find this place, I am SO happy I did. It feels and looks far more productive then the Steam forums (how confusing is that? Having a Railroad Simulation game on a service called Steam? Guess what comes up most when I try to google in search of a Steam Locomotive for this game.)

Anyway - Hello RWA!!

I donated and got my hands on the RW&A route and I must say I think it's wonderful! The scenarios are fun, it's long enough to be able to do interesting things, but not so long that you have a save pause and come back later to get from one end to the other. I love short lines and NEVER saw the likes of this route for train sim before.

I do notice though a number of "patches" in the files section and I'm wondering how I'd go about apply them and wondering if I need to, or if the version of RW&A one downloads today is already updated?

In the interest of full disclosure, I came to Train Simulator via MSTS, Railworks, Trainz, and now back to TS. Bugs and glitches made me jump ship to Trainz, and now my dissatisfaction with Trainz lead me back here... So there you have it. For any other Trainz defectors, I was "frogpipe" over there.

Welcome tg626.
If you are in So Cal like I think you are, you should contact GSkid around here and go railfanning together. Stop at the San Bernardino passenger terminal and see if they still have those wonderful strawberry cupcakes.

The RW&A is a great little route. There are two reasons for that.
1. It was named by me. It's not a coincidence that a CA town name is in there. !*roll-laugh*!
2. It was built with love by a crew of thousands from all over the world. *!greengrin!*

*!!thnx!!*

Thanks to all for the warm welcomes!

Burbank is down near LA. To put it in a rail perpective, a few miles from here I can catch the end of the "Red Line" and be at Union Station in about 1/2 an hour.

I'm a stones throw from Bob Hope airport, more or less in the valley behind the Hollywood(land) sign.

San Bernadino is close, but not really that close! Not with LA traffic !*hp*!

I did used to take trips from Baltimore to Strasburg, PA and out to Cumberland, MD for the WMSRR - are there any analogs in the LA area? I've prowled Travel Town - but like the PA RR museum it feels like a "city of the dead" *!sad!*

I'm still curious tho, do I need to do any updates to the RW&A Download or is it already up to date if I downloaded it a few days ago?
