Coming soon to the RWA Lakeside Route (as soon as the remaining bugs in the engine are taken care of):

Magnificent!

The right time for a RWA passenger version 2.

Awesome, would love to see that cab interior painted maroon for this version, would fit this version even better.

Hi,
It's been a while since the first announcement, but now at last the RW&A Doodlebug has been released and is available for download
on my website.
There's now also a version with manual four-speed transmission included.
I tweaked some minor things over the first 2.0 release of the Montana Western car, but there are still two quirks ("unmousable" controls of throttle and brake). I don't know why they refuse to work, I set them up just like the controls that do work, even double checked the pivot of the groups.

Cheers
Michael

Superb, and a welcome "quirky" and very different addition!
I do have a question . . as there are no controls at the reverse end, were these vehicles only run forwards and turned whever possible? In the event of essential backwards running, did a "lookout" sit at the leading end passing instructions back to the engineer at the back, or did the engineer rely on hnaging out of the rear cab to see the route ahead?
I am comparing it with the UK's GWR Steam Railmotor, for instance, where there were driving cabs at both ends and in reverse it could be controlled by a driver at the front with certain basic controls (horn, regulator & brake), while a second person was at the rear, stoking the engine and taking instructions to perform some of the other controls.
