Where is my turntable??

Unread postby ozinoz » Sun Jun 08, 2014 6:01 pm

Have a day off today with a public holiday and thought I might immerse myself in the RWA and write a couple of steam scenerios. First off and my turntable has gone out to lunch. !!det!! Very stange and it does make it difficult.

All settings are maxxed out, so I am at a loss. Any thoughts?

!*cheers*!

Did you try just restarting the game? Or go into the world editor and back out? I've had that problem and either of these usually fixes it.

Sometimes if you have the staring scenario marker to close to a turntable that happens as well.

I found the same thing with a free roam scenario after backing out from the editor, but on quitting the scenario and restarting it, the turntable was back and all was fine.

You should not go from edit to play. It does not re initialize everything. And if you do it enough times your scenario will eventually get trashed. Some kind of memory link that has not been found. You should always exit TS and restart after editing a scenario if you want the true results. Your switch stands should also be missing along with the turntable.

Bob is correct. Just as switch stands sometimes do, turntables (the visual component of which is essentially a special case of switch stand) will occasionally disappear. My best guess is it's a memory or memory-leak issue. Quit out of the game and restart and you should be good to go. If not, reboot.

OK, who's in charge of keeping the drain clear in the bottom of the pit and why would ozinoz climb into a loco on a flooded turntable. You guys might want to see me in the Union office before management grabs your butt. *!rolleyes!* !*hp*!

Cheers guys thanks for the info. I am back in the office again now, but will fire it up and see what is what as soon as I am able. Hopefully a restart was all that was needed (and I do have a scenario marker next to the pit which also might be causing me an issue.)
Will see...
