Settle & Carlisle 1920s

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Tue Jun 05, 2012 1:20 pm

Developer: jetgriff (J Griffiths)

Freeware or Payware: freeware

What to do (Switching, hauling, both): both

Where is it set: Between Skipton and Carlisle in northwestern England. Included is the entire mainline between both towns and the Hawes branch. This route includes the famous Settle-Carlisle line.

What time-frame: 1920s

Where to get it (include link): UKTrainSim: http://uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php? ... leid=28298

Back story (please be brief): Running through a very scenic part of England in Yorkshire and the Pennines, this route is both fantastic to look at and a real challenge for the engineer. Tough grades, back then plenty of traffic under operation of the Midland and later the LMS, inluding the hot Thames-Clyde-Express from London to Glasgow and lots of locals. There are many small towns on the line here, each with its own small yard for local customers, so there is always plenty to do on this very well built route.

Screenshots (optional-no more than 5):
