Back Story: This route depicts the line from Barnstaple to Exeter as it exists today, one of the last remnants of what was once an extensive network in North Devon operated by the London & South Western, and later the Southern, Railway. Much of it was closed in the 1960s, when the Western Region took over. Today, it sees an hourly service operated by Class 143, 150 and 153 units.
