It's actually called a Crescent Cab.

A SD60E & even a GP59 next year you are going to be a very busy chap Mike

Mind you great stuff to look forward too and even more reason for me to give up UK stuff for US stuff.

The SD60Es are beginning to have major mechanical issues (6920 is one of many) and NS shop guys are running around without their heads trying to find what went wrong with the rebuild. They may begin another rebuild process or run em til they die. Sources from the Altoona Works representatives in private emails.

There might be a new rebuild doesn't mean the cab will change. People of the AltoonaWorks Facebook Page should know better than blame the cab on the problems. (They hate the cab so much that they blame everything on them!)

I'm not blaming the cabs. The prime movers may go under a mass overhaul or NS might run em til they die because they've got ES44AC's and ACes beginning to pour in. For example, the dash 9s are surprisingly lasting very long. In the past and partly in te present EMDs tend to be more expensive and last longer (SD's and GP later models) and GEs tend to be cheaper and not last quite as long (U boats, C40-8s, B40-8s) and usually require more maintaining.

SD60E's are full rebuilds. They replace virtually everything on the 710 prime mover.

No, Mike is. This topic was created before Mike announced what he was working on.
