EMD F7

The F7 was the fourth model in GM-EMD's successful line of F-unit locomotives, and by far the best-selling cab unit of all time. In fact, more F7s were built than all other F-units combined. The F7 succeeded the F3 model in GM-EMD's F-unit series, and was replaced in turn by the F9. Final assembly was at GM-EMD's La Grange, Illinois, plant or GMD's London, Ontario, facility.
A total of 2,393 cab-equipped lead A units and 1,463 cabless-booster or B units were built.[1]

This one is fresh out of the paint shed sporting primer. The paint department is looking for what railroad livery needs to be put on it.

Okay, I have two suggestions.

First, NC&StL which would of course fit right in my route I'm creating. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=23477#p266320

Second, Wabash since the schemes share a similar design and colors. Not sure if the Monticello F7 is 100% on the lower band color. A Wabash fan will have to speak up.

The EMD paint designers sometimes shared ideas between the smaller railroads. Beware of online images of the N&C units that show units that faded quickly to a more chalky blue. It was a more dark blue like L&N or B&O. The Dupont Industrial Enamel Dulux did not hold up well. Most of the smaller roads were too poor to repaint. The N&C units wore their very faded factory paint until absorbed by the L&N in 1957 and they fell into a repainting schedule then.

Thanks for considering these.

I would have suggested Central Of Georgia which uses the blue and gray but they only had F3's I believe.

In my archive folders, the "Buzz" folder has over 400 files and I doubt I have everything. That's a lot of work from you and a lot of entertainment for me :) Thanks for all of them! **!!bow!!**

I'm moving on to the NC&StL loco and am having a tough time finding a good side shot to do the signage on the side. Anyone have a picture I can use to try to get this right?
