Or has it already been done and I missed it?

Chris and Jerre's Paint shop were making whatever this is but it randomly disappeared for some reason

Maybe the Caltrain F40PH? It has the HEP extension (extra radiator section) behind the engine radiators. Straight "blast box" F40's used on Amtrak didn't have that.

Peninsula Corridor should have an F40PH that came with it.

The F40 came with the Gilroy extension for the Peninsula Corridor
