Farmers Cooperative GP20

Unread postby gtrtroger » Wed Jan 27, 2021 11:02 am

I’m looking for someone to do a repaint of Reppo’s GP20 according to the photo below for the Farmers Cooperative Operations at Hemingford, NE, on the BNSF Butte Subdivision. This locomotive works the grain elevator operations and transloading facilities at, in and between Hemingford and Alliance Nebraska - a future location on Tomcat’s “Powder River Basin” route.

The Farmers Coop Grain Elevator at Hemingford has an annual capacity of 15-20 million bushels of segregated grains and loads between 6 and 20 - 110 car unit grain trains each year for winter/spring wheat, corn, soybeans, etc., harvested in northwestern Nebraska, southwestern South Dakota and southeastern Wyoming. Additionally, this motive power works transloading locations between and in Berea and Alliance Nebraska for the annual sugar beet harvest which is processed by the Western Sugar Plant located at Scottsbluff, Nebraska on the BNSF Valley Subdivision. During planting seasons, this locomotive is used to pickup and deliver various other commodities in Alliance such as fertilizers, gasoline and diesel fuels, etc used by the Farmers Cooperative customers.

Having this repaint will go along way to replicating the rail operations other and coal and oil that will be found on this soon to be released Train Simulator Route.

Thanks
Roger

I can take a whack at that. Since it's all one color it should be pretty straight forward. Do you know what the back of it looks like? !!det!!

All blue - no stripes....

....and I thank you, and the community will thank you too. (There will be scenarios that use this locomotive.)

I'm going to do it off of the UP model is that's OK. That one has the headlight in the right place.

Almost a perfect match on the Blue!
You can go without autonumbering as this is the only engine # - “3854” - just paint it on.....

Curses I hate when modelers do stuff like that. There will be I hope only a slight delay while I figure out a work around.

Hey Buzz, while you're at it, would it be a huge paint to keep the base color and make a Conrail version? I don't know how repaints work so just figured I'd throw the question out there...
