A question about the RSC GP9

Unread postby wopflyer » Tue Jul 31, 2018 2:21 pm

Hello,

I have just finished up my first repaint for the non-dynamic brake version of the RSC GP9 and I have a question. Can someone tell me how (or if) I can change the dynamic numbering for this locomotive from a 4-digit number to a 3-digit number that is centered under the windows and in the number boards? If that can't be done, how do I change the loco to static numbering? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

You can change to a 3 digit number by alpha-ing out one number, such as "0". But it won't be centered.

Yeah, I tried that. While that works "ok" for the number boards, the space under the cab windows looks odd with it off-center.

The position of the dynamic numbers is part of the geo, so I don't believe you can really so much about it.

Capture gp9.JPG

I decided to live with the offset. However I painted each engine cab withe the appropriate number. I of course alpha-ed out the cab digits.

May I ask which loco and from what GP9 Pack did you use for your repaint?
Thank you.

It's the RSC, GP9Pack01. The non-dynamic brakes version.

The one you see in the photo I have included is supposed to be #531.

I'm working on one for the CNJ using the Southern RWY model.

Okay......DTG has changed and offered so many editions and packages over the years I am lost as to what is what now.
I have the RSC GP9Pack01 and it has 15 liveries in it and 2 are non dynamic brake with 3 letter numbering.
They are the GN, MILW ......this is the GN ( photo below )....they both have the cowling over the last fan????
The side cab logos could be edited / placed in position via the loco numbers that are required.

There are 4 other locos also with non dynamic braking ( couple without fan cowlings ) but they have 4 letter numbering. They are Rock, CNW, BNSF and SOU.

I cannot tell you the price as I live outside of the USA.....here's a link to the Pack I got before the " ban the non USA world "
