So I'm throwing this suggestion out to the re-painters.

How about making some CSX or NS SD45-2's. Maybe even do a re-paint of NS 1700 as a proper EL SD45-2?






I attempted to try it tonight, but it's hard to replace the Santa Fe Scheme on the locomotive. If anyone has any pointers let me know and I could take another stab at it?

kinda already suggested this a while ago. and the erie paints on the bottom are done already.

He wants the -2 variant of the SD45. Im assuming he would also want one with ditchlights added to it, since we dont have one with them.

There are some significant differences between the ATSF SD45-2's and the SD45-2's that were built for the EL and went on to CSXT/NS ownership. Horn location, 5000 gallon fuel tank (big spotting difference), and ditch lights for the modern era. There are a few others as well. It would probably be better to wait for DTM to make their own, I wouldn't be surprised if they did since they made an EL GP35.

Ditch lights aren't necessary but if they are an option I wouldn't object haha. I mean even as a placeholder it wouldn't be a bad idea. Not saying it has to perfect but in the ballpark is a-okay with me.

There is a few odds and ends to clean up and this will be done.
