Wondering if someone could paint VRC's U30C into the Detroit Edison Scheme, would be right at home on the NS Coal District

You provide 3 pictures with 3 different colors.
Not going to be easy for a repainter.
Try to find a color code.

I think the blues in each picture are pretty similar, it's just that depending on the picture they may look a different shade; think of Conrail Blue for example.
Though I think the most accurate blue would be a lighter shade than the pictures I posted, here's two more.

Apologies.

What I mean is, because of the differing conditions for each picture (lighting condition, age of engine, type of film and processing, age of photograph, scanner settings, etc), the color on the pictures will vary even if the engines are the same colors.
For example, on your 1st picture the blue has a cyan tint, on the second one it has a violet tint.
There's no way to know which one is correct.

It would help repainters if you could find the color code for the particular blue this railroad was using..

Try Marc Nelson's 3DTrains site. If he don't got the color codes, nobody got the color codes.

Wow! Thanks Jerry, I did not know that existed. It will be very useful for future repaints.

Use those with a certain amount of caution because even tho they are very accurate they don't always look just right when you get them in the game.

That is true. Depending upon the amount of shine in the Alpha channel on the main diffuse texture or the amount of shadow baking, it can change the color. I tend to lean towards the Dark Side myself.

And duller is good since very few rail vehicles are shiny like they just came out of the paint shop.
