Flatcar loads

Unread postby DKSspeed » Tue Mar 15, 2016 4:22 am

Hi, I'm new to posting stuff so I don't know if this is the right place. Since we got the military flat cars as a freebie I was wonder if anybody would like to make some loads for it. I have some of loads that could go on it.

Car frames
Containers
Damaged Rolling stock or Engine
Wind turbines
Tractors
Heavy pipes
Foreign engines

That's all I got right now. Hopefully someone can make this if they would like. Thanks!

I would, but I do not own these cars. Is there a way to buy these or are they only the rewards system? If not, I can easily take the flats from stevens pass and model on some of these. Otherwise, I can't make them

The flatcar came through a the reward system. I'm not sure how to get in on the freebie thing you might have to ask them about how.

This is way off topic however you get them by buying the TS2016 not just getting the free update and you should then get a offer for the free rewards. Now let's get back on the subject of who can do some loads not who can not do them and why.

Now some of these will be relatively hard, such as damaged rolling stock. I will work on a damaged tank car or something but will take a long time. The simpler things will be done first.

Here is the very first test. I threw on a simple texture just to export it. I just need to do some basic modifying and then I can position it onto the flat. Shouldn't be too hard.

Looking very nice! !!*ok*!! I look forward to containers...I actually prefer COFC (Container on Flat Car) to double stacks.

Talking about Flatcars loads.
As you all know the military mobilization train included 4 flatcars, an empty, a Humvee, a Recon light vehicle and what it seems to be a Bradley. However when looking at the Military flatcars folder I found a 4th load, an M1A2 Abrams MBT.

I wonder if somebody else realized about that. !!det!!

I would guess the tank was not included by DTG, maybe because it would need a wider flatcar or with transverse supporting beams, though when loaded on real cars the tracks seem extend beyond the car width:

I just discovered that, so it needs to be rotated and place only one unit per car (centered), so I have to play with the child matrix. The mass has also to be modified. An M1A2 weight about 70 mt.
I guess that to upload it in RWA it would be just a bin to be placed in the right folder. All the Geo´s are already there.

Nice catch! I much prefer the look of the M1 Abrams to that Bradley, I was slightly dissapointed the flats didn't have M1's as that's what I see as most modern tank loads. Thanks for finding this hidden load. !!*ok*!!

However I am in need of help. I have tried several changes in the child matrix and I can´t get it right along the track axis without the model deforming
So if anyone have knowledge (or a link) on how to turn the child, please jump in.
It must be a combination of several of the matrix elements.
Rotating the Geo is not possible because of rights.

Thank you Chacal. I will take a detailed look and post my results. !!*ok*!!
I searched in the forum and could not find anything of help. I had barely looked at that some time ago, but I forgot it was in the file library.
