70ish U.P. Boxcars.

Unread postby Ericmopar » Wed Oct 29, 2014 8:02 pm

We don't have too many U.P. Boxcars from the 60s through the 80s. The kind with yellow and silver livery. With silver trucks. We could use some reskins of things like the SD40 along the same lines.
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.
Slick with Pretty Rainbow Colors.

Things like these too. Man is it hard to get any kind of U.P. boxcar image on Google... There are a lot more than this that I remember from being a kid, but I don't know the manufacturers etc on them. Looking for prototype images is almost fruitless.

I personally have boxcars from Kuju, Sherman Hill, Donner Pass and Feather River.

The boxcar that came with the DD35 i think would be a good one to repaint. It has the old journal boxes but it is rolling bearing.

I don't currently have the DD35. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'm thinking about the kuju as much as I don't want to use it... Not sure what other model is close to this. I know Great Northerner's freeware 50ft boxcar has tons of UP repaints like this. I could try to do something with those kind of trucks.

Thanks for showing me. I forgot it had that. I will mess around with it and see what happens.

I have been thinking of doing some of these on Great Northerner's freeware 50ft Hicube

Ugh! The hicube will not work because the Union Pacific cars have double doors.
