Buzz, I hope I didn't relieve you of something you wanted to do? We could always use more CNW stuff!
Jalsina, you better believe the CNW used these in regular commuter service. They didn't call the railroad "Cheap and Nothing Wasted" for no reason.
To whom it may concern, in my internet travels/research for these engines I found out some interesting stuff about CNW 5031B (pictured).
She started life as KCS E3 #3:

Was wrecked, rebuilt, and renumbered as KCS #23:

Later one of only 2 KCS motors painted white:

Then she was sold to the CNW, later sold to the RTA, then leased back to the CNW, and finally sold to the Smoky Hill Railway and Historical Society of Kansas City, Kansas where she was parted out and scrapped:

Sad ending to a hard working Gal, but that is how it goes sometimes.
It would be neat to see a KCS engine like this one so we could complete the story.
