HSC was exactly what I had in mind. Pennsy was fortunate that the diesel builders were unable to meet the demands of a crash desalination program because their capacity was maxed out. By the same token, historians and fans were fortunate in that they got to witness an extended Transition Era show that featured a bewildering collection of steam and diesel power operating side by side. If it's possible to do Pennsy F-3s that just adds to the spectacle.

Can you come up with a few pics? I'm going to do a weathered version of the red GM&O and then the ICG one and then I can look at it and see if it's doable.

Those GM&O units look so cool. I've always loved that solid red scheme. Thank you again for doing these!

I found these via an O Gauge forum. These aren't the best, but then there isn't much difference from the F-7s as far as paint goes.

According to Wikipedia, they were numbered as follows:

A Units: 9500A–9561A, 9563A-9567A, 9677A–9689A

B Units: 9500B–9528B, 9540B–9546B, 9548B-9554B (even numbers only)

Might these help?

Note: Right-Click and save them in their original rather large format.

Apropos of the Pennsy units, it turns out only the first few were"chicken wire" F-3s. The rest appear to be identical to F-7s, apart from the number boards, which we're ignoring anyway. The A Units would have been 9500A-9529A, and the B Units would have been 9500B-9528B (even).

At long last (trying to finish up all my half done projects from last year) the ICG F3 is about done.

Second that. I remember those mismatched sets from my last days in high school. It was a brief, highly interesting and exceptionally colorful era.
