There are also some threads on couplers here on RWA.

Could someone use the single headlight variant to produce something like the current UP E9s? Lovely work done by all the painters so far, by the way. !!*ok*!!

There. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19929

Also, I can't move the couplers pivot point when coupled for some reason, where do I fix that, I've tried to look on google for any answer, but nothing.

I think what you might be looking for is in the couplings folder not the engine folder.

Okay so there's nothing in the couplers foulder for moving the coupler coupling point. This is what I'm getting.

The couplers are correct when uncoupled...

...but when coupled they're too far forward...

I've been unable to figure this out.

That value of 5.91031 looks way off and is towards the front of the locomotive (positive x-axis)

Good catch Edwin. On the F unit they are both negative numbers and have the same value.

A few lines down is another variable concerning the couplers:
<BackPivotX>, decrease its value until you are satisfied with the distance between the units. The buffers/striker plates should probably touch each other.
Are those buffers sprung on the prototypes? Then they should be compressed on coupled units to minimise slack action.

I need to read up on the blueprint documentation concerning those couplers in the engine.bin.
Some of the variables only apply to European style link and hook couplers on rolling stock with side buffers, IIRC

Those pivoting points are the most important, I've changed the value to -10.6 on my game.
You need to experiment some with the pivot and receiving points, so the couplers don't retract or protude when uncloupling/coupling.

Coupler slack is defined in the couplers.bin themselves.

Something I whipped up. I think I'm very happy with the results. 800 and 800B.
