T&B S2 Fictional Repaint

Unread postby goddrauG » Sat Nov 06, 2021 11:34 am

I don’t particularly know where else to post this, so I hope this is the right spot.

I’m in the process of (once more) revamping the Thurmont and Branford Railroad. Normally I wouldn’t ask for repaints like this but I quite literally have two towns left to build, then some added scenery and speed checks to do before it’s complete. I’m also not quite adept at the repainting gig, so here we are.

While Rick Kfoury repainted a GE 44-Tonner a while back, this leaves us with one more loco: the Alco S2. Since the inspiration for the T&B was a Pinsly-owned railroad, I’ve been looking at a Pinsly paint scheme.

This scheme, with the lettering of “Thurmont and Branford Rwy.” on the side and three different loco numbers (121, 122, 123) would look absolutely stunning on the route. If you’re interested in this and want any more information, please let me know.

I presume you are talking about the dogmouse awesome model. I'd be happy to take a break from my covered wagon project and do this for you. Do you have a pic from the rear?
If anyone has already jumped on this just shout out.

I absolutely mean Dogmouse’s model. It’s by far one of my most favorite locomotive models!

Here’s the rear. Thankfully it doesn’t seem like anything too insane, just plain red.

Is this what you want “Thurmont and Branford Rwy.” or do you want Thurmont & Bradford Rwy? And so you want it all upper case or upper and lower or upper all but the first letter larger? Pic with no lettering shortly.

"Thurmont and Branford Rwy." with the period is good. I had to do a double take on my source loco: turns out the Claremont and Concord put a period at the end of theirs as well. Zero clue why !*don-know!* . I think all uppercase would look pretty solid, all with the same font size.

I genuinely cannot thank you enough for this. I can't wait to see it!

Looking beautiful! I think the red will do well to break up the typical green trees on the route.

There about a zillion choices of fonts. This is not engraved in stone so if you want anything in particular let me know.

I think it looks solid, just one thing: is it possible to italicize it?

Looking beautiful! One last thing: You probably saw in the other forum the somewhat fuzzy logo. If we get that patched up, could we put it under the window and above the numbers?
