The West Point Route

Unread postby wopflyer » Thu Feb 09, 2017 11:59 pm

I have a repaint suggestion. Could someone please repaint the Feather River F7A and caboose into the paint scheme for the "Western Railway of Alabama"? The same scheme is also used for the "Atlanta and West Point Rail Road". I'll try to include some pictures I scanned from the book, "The West Point Route; Atlanta and West Point Rail Road and The Western Railway of Alabama." by Robert H. Hanson.

From what I can find, the HTML codes for the paint color's would be HTML #141c31 for the Dark Blue, HTML #817F81 for the Aluminum stripe's and letter's, and HTML #e9b308 for the Yellow used on the handrails and grab iron's. Oh, and also, the aluminum stripe does not go across the back of the locomotive. The back is just dark blue.

I'll also include a map I found online of the West Point Route.

After seeing, and downloading, the great new B&O repaints of the Feather River F7 done by Buzz Baxter (Buzz456), I think the Dark Blue he used on the "BnO blue F7" looks like it might be a better match for the WofA/A&WP repaints I'm suggesting/requesting above.

Also, I now think that the Aluminum stripe's and lettering should be HTML#817f81. I got this aluminum color from the "SRR Lightweight Passenger Set" by Harry Adkins (Harryadkins).

I have been trying to do this repaint myself, but I am not that skilled at this. The nose (front), with it's "bow-wave" is particularly difficult for me.

On a side note, one of the main reasons I'm asking for this repaint is because my grandfather, and great-great uncle worked for the Western Railway of Alabama. My grandfather worked in the paint shop in Montgomery, Alabama as a draftsman before WWII, and my great-great uncle cleaned and serviced the passenger cars. So it's a family thing.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to tackle this.

Thank you Buzz!!! I'm a fan of your work, and have downloaded a lot of it. And after seeing all the recent repaints you've uploaded, I know you've been busy. So it's an honor sir, to have you take time to do this. Thanks again. :D
