Crossing signals

Unread postby Metrarailfan » Mon Jan 09, 2017 5:31 pm

The crossing signals that came with RCAP(same as smm) are great, but they don't really allow much customization, besides adding lights and signs. What I'm asking, is that some one could add some. For example, with crossing #7(the one with a long gate to use with cantilevers), you can put what ever you want on it, which is great, but that's the only one like that. Also, there's no bell on it. So here's what I'm asking.
-A signal with just a pole, and a SHORTER gate than crossing 7
-A signal with a really short gate for pederian crossings
-All 4 cantilevers but nothing on them
-Maybe some variety on bells, so for each of the above a version with a mechanical bell, a e bell, and no bell at all.

Then, if you have that you can "decorate" it however you want, and make them accurate to the route.

I know that this is a huge request, so if anybody does it thanks a lot!
I'd try myself, but have never did any modeling in this game =/
Thanks!

In all honesty i wouldn't mind more crossing models or modular bells. Imagine placing a no bell crossing then adding in a WCH Mechanical Bell and a SafeTran Mechanical bell.

Yeah, that's a better idea, that way there wouldn't be tons of models just because of a change in bells, and you could put a bell where ever.

I think there is little notice of the specifics of these things when you are cruising by unless it's at a slow switching point. Not quite sure the point of a lot of small detail differences but different strokes.

Well maybe, but how about the pedestrian crossing? There's one with the metra route, but that's doesn't activate with the smm ones, and isn't realistic. I guess you just have to be into signals and that type of stuff.

I would like to see more variety of crossing signals added, examples would be Griswold, RACO, WCH, and WRRS type signals.

Those are cool, but if someone made more I would like another pedestrian crossing besides the racetrack one.

Here's another idea. The video tells you what it is, but there are in place at a couple quiet zones near me,( pretty much all crossings now and days !*not-ok*! ). They are also at all crossing in San Clemente and other parts of the Surfliner route.

Im willing to create crossing signal models, only if someone will help me out with making them, including animations.
