Just a FYI my young friend the GP38 is one of the hardest locomotives in the stable to do a good re-paint on. It has bits and pieces all over the place. If you do something with a solid color it might be manageable for a rook but otherwise I wouldn't advise it. If you just back up your original texture file you can paint the original without having to make any changes to the files. You lose the original while you are playing with the new one but it saves you from having to learn all about making and changing bins and such.

I don't want to seem rude, but I did say "I'm going to try and use the ADCX GP38-2 repaint" for the Racetrack GP38. I was wondering if I need to do anything for the ADCX repaint to work in game. Here is the repaint I'm trying to use. http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... e-repaints

I misunderstood. I didn't recognize the railroad marks. For a quick test to see if the textures will work just back up the textures for the racetrack and then stick the new ones in there and open the locomotive to see what it looks like. If it's OK we can talk about what you need to do to create the new loco.

Alright so I took all texture files out of the BNSF Barnez GP38 and put the repaints texture files in. I checked and the repaint looks great and it works.
