Where would you get sounds for it?

Also cab shots seem to be non-existent.

I'm a GE man, but lack of photos, lack of sounds, inability to put my hands on one for research means a pretty uphill battle in the quest for realism.

I'm out.

I did have an N-Scale model of a U50 ar one time. Like the real ones, it ran like garbage and was soon relegated to the yard-sale box.

EDIT 2: I hate to keep bumping this, but I need to correct the info.

According the book "U-Boats", the U50 first saw service in 1963. 23 of the 8-axle units were built for Union Pacific, 3 for Southern Pacifc. They were built in response to EMD's DD35's, and were actually quite reliable. Some of them even outlasted their succesor, the U50C.The 40 U50C's were delivered to UP in 1969-1970. By 1971, five had been sidelined by electrical fires. Soon after, stress fractures began showing up in the trade-in turbine trucks due to the weight of the unit. There were several more failures, and in 71' GE tapped Morris Knudsen to rewire the units, but balked because of the prohibitive cost. By 1976 all 40 U50C's were scrapped, no survivors.

EDIT: A little biographical info. According the book "U-Boats", the 40 U50's were delivered to UP in 1969-1970. By 1971, five had been sidelined by electrical fires. Curiously, the book has a photo of a Southern Pacific U50 on the cover, but there is no roster information for it.
