NS SD75M's and NS SD60M's Ex BNSF

Unread postby NSheritage » Sun Jun 29, 2014 1:26 pm

Well with NS buying some ex BNSF 75M's and Triclops 60M's and getting them in the near future we need to start painting up some 75's and 60M's in the horsehead paint and with NS patches. the 75M's will at 2779-2785 and the 60M's will be 6807-6815. This will be a great addition to the sim!

Doesn't excuse the fact they're pieces of crap. The SD60Ms aren't bad, but those Santa Flush units rattle and creak like they're older than the SD40s we have.

the SD75M's are at least better then the SD70MAcs. Sd70MAcs being 4,000 HP and SD75M's and I's being 4,300 HP.

That doesn't mean anything. The original SD90MACs had 6,600 HP and they had to be downgraded due to mechanical problems with the new engine. Higher horsepower isn't always better.

70MACs are great pullers, as are 9043s, not as good as an ES44AC or Ac44, but the difference between the 75 and 70MAC being the traction motors makes a helluva difference.
