RCAP Flex Items....

Unread postby RvA944 » Sun Oct 13, 2013 5:18 pm

First things first great works on RCAP,

Ok guys I see in the latest version of RCAP someone made Flex items. Could someone give me a run down on how's that's done. I need to make some trees, well allot of trees on mountain sides and I've been trying to figure this one out. I'd like to do something about 100x100 and 250x250 and maybe a few smaller odd shaped one too.

If I can get this working and it's good enough I would be glad to give it back to you as a finished product for the next one.

Best,

Roger

For trees it would be better if you use the built in asset block. It was specifically designed just for this.

Yes Papa I saw that tree asset item in there, but what I want to do is a standard item with mixed trees that I can access directly from the menu and keep dropping trees in.

OK, so this can't be done yet. RCAP has no trees of its own to make into a flex row. This doesn't mean you can't make your own either by hand (clone and edit the bin) or by creating your own tree assets and then creating a flex BP to contain them.

Ah there is a Blueprint for the flex items, that's what I've been trying to find out. I'll have to do some more rooting around and see how this is done. Making trees is child's play but I had no clue how the flex item was made.

heh... I looked it up (open one up with RW_tools). Its a cSceneryBlueprint with children and TrackTerrainInEditor set to true.

Go for it.
