Custom Defect Detectors

Hi all,

Just wondering how I can customize the custom defect detectors? I have recordings of some of the defect detectors I want for my route, but would like to know what I need to do to add them to the route with the recordings. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

Ken

Two ways:

1. The Long Way (requires moderate to advanced knowledge of TS inner workings). Turn your detector recordings into WAV files, blueprint and export them through the Asset Editor, then use RW_Tools to change the detector .bin files to point to your new sound samples,

2. The Short Way (requires moderate to advanced knowledge of TS inner workings). Name your WAV files the same as the named DAV files that come with the detector, then use DavDecoder (Google it) to make your WAV files into DAV's and drop them into the Audio folder that the detector uses.

It's been a while since I messed with these, so I cannot remember if the Source files were included with them.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to play with them. I'm pretty used to messing with the inner workings of TS, so either way should be easy for me. I'll let you know how I make out. By the way I tested the default ones on my route and it didn't go off when I passed over it. Am I messing something up when I drop the asset next to the track and "attach" it to a track?

It should work the exact same way as a level crossing, with the detector announcment being substituted for the crossing gate activation/deactivation.

Okay I'm having trouble setting it up, are there any tutorials on how to get it working? I tried following a tutorial for laying crossings but I think I'm missing something. Can anyone help?
