Unread postby Andimax » Sat Aug 18, 2012 6:36 am

This pack brings you 6 scenarios for Doncaster Works and Hatchet Hill Quarry (three on each route). Use your Class 03 engine to haul hoppers and to move scrap engines around the yard. Heavy loads are to be hauled, so careful braking is advised. Enjoy these challenging scenarios!

DONCASTER:

Scenario 1: Scrap duties 1
You will be gathering scrapped engines from around the yard and bringing them to the scrap lines per your work order. You are pulling some heavy weight so do not expect to set any speed records today.
Scenario 2: Scrap Duties 2
You will be moving various stock to various work places around the yard. You will need to use the work orders (F1) throughout this scenario. No other instructions will be given.
Scenario 3: Scrap Duties 3:
You will be moving various stock to various work places around the yard. You will need to use the work orders (F1) throughout this scenario. The only thing here is that you can only move 2 cars at a time. It does not matter what order you move them in as long as in the end they are in the correct places.

HATCHET HILL QUARRY:

Scenario 1: Hopper swapper
You will be taking empty Hoppers from the mainline siding to the quarry and bringing back full hoppers that will be picked up later and forwarded to their destination.
Scenario 2: Back to the Quarry
You will be going back to the quarry to fill all the empty hoppers there and spotting them on the proper sidings.
Scenario 3: Mixed Freight
You will be going to the quarry to pickup some hoppers then coming back to Hatchet Hill Siding to pick up the rest of the consist before taking all the cars to the Mainline.

Except that I'm not sure it was a good idea to make scenarios for Hatchet Hill, a very buggy route that most people don't have and the ones that do don't mess with. I'd be a lot more inclined to buy scenario packs with all the scenarios for a single route.

That is just the reason to do scenarios for the route so people can at least get some use out of the route they payed for. The scenarios that came with it were useless. You had to fix them in the scenario editor just to complete them and whenever you verified the game files they were broken again.

I fixed all mine and completed them. Haven't visited the route since then. Now I have a reason to go back to it. :D

Well, that is nice for those who do have it, I suppose, but I'm not going to pay for a route whose scenarios won't work, and I'm not going to pay for a scenario pack that I would otherwise buy when half the scenarios are for a route I don't have and won't get. That's all I'm saying. I think it may not be a very good idea to make packs for multiple routes. I suspect they will lose sales that way. Better to make a pack for Doncaster, and a separate pack for HH. Then whoever has one or the other would be more likely to get the packs.
