Hi Canadianrail,
Better and immersiver driving experience we guess you will have, especialy driving at night.
Our beta tests showed same average fps performance with TaD Lights compared to Default lights, which was considered very good once is being added brigthner headlights lighting 2.5 times farther (SD40-2) or 1.75 farther (ES44AC, Hitachi), because our lights are optimized.
Will be released also a "higher fps version", though for low/medium specs machines. In this especial version the headlights won't cast shadows (you will have headlights, though no shadows projected by them), which means they will consume much less fps than "normal" headlights (casting shadows). In low machines, beta test showed a better performace (up to 50%) with this especial pack than with the default lights. RSDerek has warned about casting shadows lights impacting strongly fps, when TS2012 was released.
Everybody knows what happens with fps when normal headlights (casting shadows) are turned on/off. With no casting shadows headlights the fps tends to be the same, doesn't matter if headlight is turned on/off.

The no casting shadows headlights version will be an opportunity for owners of low specs machines (like me

BTW, beta has finished and pack will be uploaded tomorrow to TaD CEO provide the release next week.
