Was it really like that or is that artistic freedom ? I realize it was black and silver, but still.

I wonder if it the same or there are some enhancements to the one directly from Machine Rail? It does include some scenarios on the Boston and Albany route that may include some backdating of structures and trackside assets such as signals and additional period rolling stock. If so, some more period assets would be most welcomed. We shall see.

As mentioned in the DTL article, "In a special four-part career scenario, you’ll climb aboard NYC&HR No. 999 for an end-to-end run of the Train Simulator Classic Boston & Albany: Boston Springfield route (which was part of the New York Central) for a fictional 1958 excursion run celebrating the 60th anniversary of No. 999’s record-setting speed run." There are no changes to the B&A route assets. Some additional refinements have been made to the locomotive and rolling stock for the Steam release.

I own the original version, but I have to have a look, but as far as I understand, the Steam Store version includes Career Scenarios for Boston and Albany. I think DTG is obliged to have Scenarios.

And unfortunately, scenarios in all DLC are mostly career type (or could call them points eaters). !DUH!

It is the same as MachineRail's version with the exception of "Some additional refinements have been made to the locomotive and rolling stock for the Steam release." No additional explanation was given as to what refinements. I own the original and B & A. Usually do free roam anyway. It is a well crafted locomotive and the passenger cars are of the best detailing with exceptional interiors. Certainly what other developers should strive for.
