Thanks for the heads-up. My first thought was that we are going to see a separate pre-Amtrak version with nothing but retro-assets and rolling stock; then I read the article, and remembered it's not just about USA rails. Back to reality, anticipation-mode off; although it was a nice dream while it lasted *!lol!*

"Train Simulator Classic represents a celebration of 12 years of Train Simulator, with a return to a classic cover art style, and a change of name to match"

Maybe I'm looking into this in a way they don't intend, but I have a feeling this may be the last release of Railworks from DTG. DTG has only released one route since the release of TS 2022, and that was essentially just selling one of their dev's personal workshop projects, but updated to sell as a full release. It seems like development for Railworks is sorta officially over at Dovetail, with all their resources going to TSW. It's kinda a strange anniversary to celebrate, the 12th one, which is why it's sorta strange to have this whole bundle if it wasn't the replacement for TS20xx in the future. I'd be pretty surprised if there was a TS2023.

"Train Simulator Classic" is a good last name though.

What's happening here is in no way a "finale" for Train Simulator. Indeed, far from it.

From a sales and marketing perspective, this helps Dovetail disambiguate their product line. Prospective clients can now infer which game is the 'new' one by the title, without having to delve into any research.

All speculation at this point. ElphabaWS is the closest we have to a insider who actually knows something.

What DTG Jamie posted makes it clear: it's just a renaming (dropping the year from the name and adding "classic") and a re-bundling with 3 routes.
No change for your collection.
