As usual my advice is to let your wallet do your talking or not. No one really cares of some of your personal drama so either say something constructive or take it to one of the DTG forums where it might have some impact if you feel strongly. I have no problem with constructive criticism after something is released but to sit here and complain about some route not being long enough is just a waste of space. As far as rolling stock I suggest some of you chronic complainers should use your time to learn modeling and create something for the community instead of always saying everything is not enough.

The guy that laid the track for this route is the same dude that did it on the New Haven to Boston route on Steam Workshop. Yes, it's a tad short but at least we have the community in which some of us will start doing the extension between Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Finally! About time DTG recreates DC!

No, your question (and its implication) is entirely incorrect. Because the individual is: (a) a talented modeler; and (b) very familiar with the NEC, he was hired to do the trackwork for the new route. The new route is DC-Baltimore and has nothing to do with the New Haven - Boston project he did. DTG hires a fellow ideally suited to doing the trackage ... and you attempt to find fault.

As a DC area native, however, I will say the route doesn't seem to fully capture the atmosphere of the area... at least in the screenshots. What I like least is the general colorscheme, which seems too dark. Thankfully, that can be improved with RW Enhancer.

The building models seem decent; I appreciate the effort DTG put into the stations. I don't live along the NEC, but Halethorpe and BWI are familiar sites as they are just a few miles from my college. When I was a kid, my mom occasionally took me to New York via train, and we'd always travel from BWI as opposed to Union Station to avoid driving into DC.



Has the trackwork developer included any portion of the freight lines as well? (i.e. CSX Capital Sub, Metropolitan Sub, Baltimore Terminal Sub or the Alexandria Extension)
I'd be very excited to drive some of these lines, even if they are unfinished.

Why only Washington to Baltimore? Why not complete the NEC in it's entirety and just go to Philly? There really is no need to terminate at Baltimore.

Idk, but I have a feeling tiny parts of the Landover Sub and the Pope's Creek Sub close to the NEC will be featured since CSX runs coal trains as needed over a short section of this part of the NEC.

Non-criticism mode:
Comparing the entire rail network of the US with a small section of track DTG will put out as DLC after this one comes out is rather crude. Please come up with a better argument instead of making a wild comparison.

Criticism mode:
We already have a majority of the NEC completed, and the only missing section is the one between Philly and Washington D.C. To make a route from only Washington D.C to Baltimore is just such an idiotic move. All it is is a glorified TSW port that fails to meet modern standards in route building. Bundle that with rehashed and reused stock and scenery that at most hasn't been updated in nearly 6 YEARS !

Combine that with the fact that "It's 41 route miles at 125mph. That's about a 20 minute sprint end to end". There is going to be such little replay value with this route.
