I wonder if this is based off the VRC model, and if so will it have the over-tinted windows or will they be normal? From the pictures they look normal but I can't tell for sure.

No, this new DLC from DTG features the U36C by Reppo, rolling stock by DTM, scenarios by High Iron Simulations. As is the norm for Ricardo, the U36C is a gem.

Nice! Thanks for the info! This will probably be a release day purchase, Reppo does great work

LOL, at first Elphaba was p*ssed off with me over suggesting the U36C as -the- defining motive power for Clinchfield Railroad, and now those who have bought the route can buy these big locos ....which could have been included with the route instad of the fake SD40. But commercial reasons dictate otherwise.

The retouched screen shots of the cab show an AAR type control stand, while these relatively early U-boats had a different control stand when delivered? But without period photos from the cab interior we cannot know for sure.

Santa Fe also ran these big U-boats, so when a few good repaints become available, I might be tempted to buy this locomotive DLC.

A nice surprise, hoping the community takes opportunities to make plenty of reskins for other roads (good workaround for the U33C?). Glad to see there was effort to actually letter the rollingstock this time lol.

Never at a loss for something to troll about. My point (when you claim I was P.O.'ed) was that you were squawking about the selection of locomotive included with the route (SD40, GP38, F7, and GP7), all of which far out-numbered, in both quantity purchased and length of service, the U36C. The U36C is a very welcome add for use on the route, but CRR owned seven such units for six years .... hardly the "Clinchfields main motive power" as you then suggested.

I just have to laugh that you have to buy another $20 pack just to get rolling stock with actual Clinchfield lettering and markings on it...Not everyone knows how to make repaints and it shoulda been something included in the original route. But at least the U36C looks pretty good.

Well gang since reppo has nothing connected to the route do you expect DTG to pay him for the sales of this locomotive or do you just want him (another independent business) to just give this away?

Its an intended business plan. This is dtg we're talking about. Reppo will rake in, as will Elph and DTG

Backscratchin'. Its business

Nothing new. Addons to add to addons. Would it have been nice to have quality stock added to a route off the bat? Abso frikken lutely. Who wouldn't like that?

Could there have been some collaboration with the dtgang and reppo for CRR day one? Sure. But that makes less $

Not to take away from the announcement, it looks to be good - a day one for me

**!!2cents!!**

Reppo makes great locos for sure, but I hope the windows are able to be opened on this release. His GP20's do not have opening windows. !*hp*!

Shame on DTG for also not updating their locos which they are selling and including with new routes with no opening windows. Should be a default feature by now! !*not-ok*!

The in cab modeling looks identical to the SCL U36B; was that also a Reppo product? Unfortunately the U36B package was pretty generic in regards to features and sounds.
