Interesting news and choice.

Alas, while I am very excited to see the NC Transportation Museum area will be included, I am also disappointed to see that no new rolling stock will be included -- rather just more of the same equipment/cars we already have (numerous times) in other sets. Surely, they could have offered some new equipment, especially as they are modelling the museum and MOW areas.

Sigh...

The low-nose GP38-2 in NS livery has not been available from DTG previously. The NS N-Line is almost exclusively operated by GP38-2s and similar EMD four-axle units, thus the choice of motive power to accompany the route.

Yep, I saw that.

I was addressing the rolling stock not the motive power.

I do like that short branch lines are being represented, but I am puzzled at why NS is getting another slow runner when the coal district is already a slow drag through the woods.

It's because of the NC transportation museum to add to the "hype". I still will keep my pessimistic view at least for now. !!**sorry**!!

The N-Line was selected because:

- It is a quintessential southeast branch line/short line with a challenging profile (tight curves, roller coast profile with lots of up/down grades to manage).
- It has a wide range of active/modern line-side industries (building products, agricultural, quarry, etc.) offering lots of local switching operations.
- Since it is operated from Old Spencer Yard (as included with the route), the full operation of making a "turn" on the branch to/from Halls Ferry can be experienced.
- As branch lines go, it is pretty well noted and frequented by rail fans.

That is pretty cool. Will be interesting to see how the playability works out over time.

It’s nice to see a branch line modelled, a nice change of pace from mainline routes. Road switchers are my favourite so this should be right up my alley. Looking forward to it!

....and it’s an old Southern Railway Route, so all those SOU stock can be used in alternate scenarios.....

Looks like a nice little route! For the first time in years there are new vegetation assets!

I like DTGs thinking here: branch line, set in the United States, the Southern US, Low-hood GP38-2,freight/switching, throttle/brake challenges AND is for TS2019. Clearly DTG is reading all the little requests that appear here, on Steam and the Dovetail site. So thanks Gary and DTG for paying attention!.
(and yes, the Bergen needs a GP38-2 for service out of Suffern, NY)
