I second that and it's nice to see the route being made available worldwide even if Santa Fe branded assets will only be for U.S. customers.

Is that a B40-8W I see? (Also, I nearly screamed with excitement when I saw this.)

CMP, not exactly a recommendation. But perhaps the crew has improved.
Resuming: 45 miles, one new piece of rolling stock?

If the price is right and ATSF repaints become available, I am all in for some heavy duty mainline action.
Those semaphores look sweet and I believe the flat stretches were good for 100 MpH in Santa Fe's hayday due to ATC. Wasn't this ALCO PA territory?

We’ve got plenty of ATSF resources available for this....should be fun. While it may be a 1990’s route, I do see the potential for steam era operations....this was a big time ATSF steam helper district. ATSF ran a lot of 2-10-0 and later 2-10-2 was developed here because of reversing issues with no trailing trucks. Which spline cars - 2 or 4 wheel? 45 miles....a bit short imho....high speed sections will just be getting started before you gotta slow her down for the grades....

As stated in the article, the route will include an Amtrak Material Handling Car (new), AT&SF articulated spine piggybacks (new), and also will include a Thrall-style coal gon (new), plus the AT&SF B40-8W and C40-8W (with gull-wing cabs).

I am excited for this one. I'm a little biased because it is set in one of my favorite time periods in railroading.

I do agree that 45 miles is quite short, but given the nature of the terrain it would be relatively easy to add on additional miles for those craving more of the 60mph desert single track that the route omits. Track charts, and timetables are readily available. Heck, I will even generate the terrain for anyone with the drive to take extending the route on.

The talented collection of repainters here can update the trailers on those spine cars for accurate branding, or replace them completely with some of the good examples we already have.

Looks like this will only be available in the US with those Santa Fe skins, whom we know who owns them.

As it says in the article, it will be available internationally with 'unbranded' locos. Much like the Chicago 'Racetrack' route, it won't take the community long to address that.

Judging by this https://steamdb.info/app/376931/ it appears the Pepsi Can Dash 8-32BWH to be included with the route is separate
