Ideally we need the M-1 series 4-8-2. Very common to see those on the curve and they were multi-purpose passenger and heavy freight engines. PRR never really put the k4 on any large freight and it looks kind of silly to triple-head them.

I'm showing my age, but I saw them run as a commuter run on the Rock Island at the end of their careers. 95th and Vincennes in the Beverly neighborhood.
I believe there is one consist located at the Illinois Railway Museum the last time I visited.

Certainly one one of those 'if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all' moments.

Maybe the modeler just wanted to try something different and unique, that presented a challenge? In which case, great execution! It looks wonderful!

None, and there's no need for it. DTM decided to produce it, probably because of personal tastes, and it looks to be of good enough quality for DTG to endorse it. It doesn't have to be most desirable, it's not as if there were limited resources for DLC.

Personally I'll jump on it. I've always hoped someone would do this, and I'm a sucker for anything from the fifties. The execution looks flawless, it is truly beautiful.

Seriously, there are sooo many gaps in our rosters that can be filled: EMD E7/8/9, ALCo PA's, FM C Liners, FM TrainMasters, ALCo Centuries, heavyweight coaches, really good generic streamlined passenger cars, standard UP, ATSF, SP cabooses.
Not to forget whole roundhouses of steam engines.
All of this stuff I'll gladly buy.

Although I'm not American, but I do like unique trains and most probably well purchase this. DTM do good models.

Ima use some of the stuff you listed to list off what we have and have not:

EMD E7/8/9 (Dick Cowens models), ALCo PA's(Need), FM C Liners(Need), FM TrainMasters(Need), ALCo Centuries(One in production last I checked), heavyweight coaches(Dick Cowen and Rick Grouts models), really good generic streamlined passenger cars (Rick Grout, GN Empire Builder and the WP FP7), standard UP(CA 4), ATSF(Ce1 and Ce9), SP cabooses(C-40-1 and maybe a FR Bay window Repaint).


Atleast FOUR things you requested have already been made with at least two different companies that have made a variation of some things you have requested.

This is really neat! DTM has been one of the best content creators since they entered the community. Can't wait for this!

I have been hoping for so long DTG would take one of the f7 models, stretch it and rework it into an e8/e9.
