LT Heritage Collection

Albeit an element of recycled/upgraded pieces this nevertheless looks quite interesting. Always had a soft spot for the 1938 tube stock, both in its native stamping ground on the Northern and Bakerloo line and latterly exiled to the Isle Of Wight.

Would have been nice to see a proper tube route though (even fictional), with assets that could have been put to use in 3rd party projects.

There is a freeware District Line that includes D78 and '73 Tube Stock. http://lur.boards.net/thread/116/route- ... ollTo=1380

This was a project that Kevin worked on.
I agree a underground route would be fab, but I did not want it going out without people being able to enjoy it.
Which also lead me to Phorum and how do I get that back out without all the problems of the original.

certainly good fun though.

The 1938 stock train was a pet project of mine, something I worked on in my spare time, what there was of it.
I assumed it would be released as a piece of standalone DLC, although as Derek says, that would limit the appeal somewhat.
The idea was it would encourage someone to make a proper Underground route for it to run on. To that end, the route comes with tube train sized tunnel lofts, and LT style trackside cabling.
So I was pleased when DTG came up with the London Transport Heritage collection concept, with fitted in neatly with the desire to release a revamped Phorum line, adding Danny Leach's fondness for all things Network SouthEast into the mix. The end result being this quirky little route which I think is good value for the price.
However, I am dismayed by comments elsewhere that the tube train is little more than a reskin of the Island Line 483. It is much more than that, with new cab and passenger views, a more accurate simulation script and functionality. It also has the full range of Northern Line destination and marker light combinations. cab & gauge lights and opening cab windows.
I am very grateful to Dave Brindley, Matt Peddlesden and Edward Fisk for the help with the scripting as this was way beyond my ability. My only regret was I didn't have time to figure out how to improve on the original Class 483 sounds.
As the other stock has a ready-made home on the Virtual District Line, I'm quietly confident the community or 3rd party developer will make a proper deep level tube route for this train.
Also, Vern might be interested to know the narrow gauge track is still present in the assets folder and can be accessed from the editor.

may i make a few comments here? i bought this today after reading several comments on the train sim website articles that suggested that not only the assets but also the narrow gauge rolling stock would also be there... but I acknowledge that you have no control over that so this is more along the lines of an observation. the second thing i have to comment on is with regard to the supplied scenarios.. the second pannier scenario has a class 20 attached to the back of the player train.. this mixing of diesel and steam locomotives prevents the use of the reverser on the pannier unless the regulator is at 0. this is the same behavior as a diesel and this bug has existed since the release of the second major release of RW so my question here is. does dovetail actually play the scenarios they create or do they just use the scenario editors in built testing system? other than these minor niggles may also I say job well done to all involved?

Out of curiosity, I exported the passenger view into UE4.
The model and textures are exactly the same as in TS but UE4 lighting and materials make a huge difference.
