San Francisco Route

Unread postby Haystack » Mon Oct 17, 2016 3:07 pm

Has anyone heard anything else about the SF route for TS2017 that was mentioned when CSX Heavy Haul was announced? Since CSX will be released early next year I figured we would at least see some WIP shots of the SF route by now before they move their focus to supporting the new simulator. Disclaimer, this is not a complaint, being impatient, or in anyway being negative. I'm just wondering if there has been anything else mentioned that I might have not seen.

The new route has already been announced although you will have to dig deep into the article to find it

Caltrain? Does this mean a passenger/commuter route?

Mainly commuter, but freight trains also use part of the route

Caltrain F40PH's huh? I see a the F40PH with the Headlights and Gyra-lights similar but not equal to the Metra F40PH's and the Gallery Cars or maybe the Caltrain MP36's and the Bomb' Commuter cars from the LA pack. Good possibility that Barnez Is working on this as well.

Not any more. It's strictly a boaring straight shot down the San Francisco peninsula with commuter trains.

I'm shocked they didn't do the East Bay trackage, where there is tons of freight and passenger to model and sell.
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.

I read all of the posts not much detail . Information coming soon is what was said. I have a question Caltrain was mentioned what about Amtrak. Caltrain runs from San Francisco to San Jose. Amtrak Capital Corridor runs from San Jose to past Sacramento to Auburn California. Are both of these going to be included in the new DTG San Francisco Route.

I am with you what about the Eastbay. This is where most of the action is. San Francisco to San Jose is a straight shot and will be boring.
All of the Yards and freight action along with Passenger service from San Jose to Sacramento this is what should be done.

I found this Video on YouTube. It is a Caltrain run from San Jose to San Francisco. I do not know what the new DTG route will be. Only what they have told us as of now. But from what they have told us I am pretty sure this is what we are going to get.

It is defiantly better than nothing but they could do much better. Maybe they will lets hope so.

Here is a video from Sacramento to San Jose on the Amtrak Capital Corridor Train.

These are just my thoughts. But since they are calling it The San Francisco Route. I believe what they are going to make is the Caltrain Route from San Francisco to San Jose.

If it is Caltrain San Francisco-San Jose, color me excited! I love commuter rail operations. This would be a fairly straightforward route for DTG to make as they already have rolling stock and scenery assets that could be easily modified for this route. I predict the rolling stock will be F40PH-2s and gallery cars. Perhaps an expansion pack of Baby Bullet bombardier coaches will be subsequently released. I'd very much look forward to - but don't expect - an MP36 DLC.

You Guys do realize that this is a "Proposed Route" Not an official WIP. Besides, it would just be PSL with more hills. I hope DTG give us something new. No more routes with rehashed/reused Assets. *!rolleyes!*

Actually this is a route DTG is working on. It is stated in this post and on the Video they made about Train Simulator 2017. Besides that there is not much more we know about this route as of now. They state that there will be more information coming in the coming weeks. So we know they are making a San Francisco Route but that is all we know.

Here is what was stated on there video about Train Simulator 2017.

"Our best days are ahead of it we have some incredible content in the pipeline really amazing stuff.
We have a great selection of routes coming ahead our highlights are San Francisco. We are looking forward to it, it is really amazing."

"And we also have a number of third party products coming up too."

So you see they are making a San Francisco Route. But like I said that is all we know for know.

However as Barney Fife said "we are complessed" to speculate about what might be what should be and what won't be until we actually know something. Then we can start complaining about what should be and what isn't to be. !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!
