Wrong link, here's the correct one.
http://train-simulator.com/outeniqua-choo-tjoe/
The places and the names – George and Wilderness and Knysna; Eden and the Garden Route; Kaaimans River and Victoria Bay; and a steam train called “Outeniqua Choo Tjoe” – together they recall railroading, set along and through the Western Cape of South Africa, that achieved a legendary stature. And now, the famed route of the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe is soon coming to Train Simulator!

I can't say I'm impressed with the visual quality of the rolling stock, but it's obviously still WIP so hopefully it'll be improved.

Even more to the point, let's hope it's better than the first African route from DTG!

Dude…DTG did not make this, it is from a third party developer called Johansteam, who also developed the other South African route from 2 years ago.

Does this make a difference?

It's DTG who is releasing it as steam DLC. They do that a lot with third party developers, for example G-Trax.
Technically, since it's being released on steam, it is in a sense coming from DTG. Doesn't necessarily mean they actually made it.

There's been a few additional screenshots shared on DTG's Facebook page. The overall build quality looks decent, the SAR Class 24 cab interior looks ....simple... but I'm very excited on the whole for what looks to be a beautiful route and an enjoyable steam engine to run. Here's hoping for a good loopable chime whistle on the 24.

Yeeesh, DTG has really dropped their standards for graphics when it comes to their partners. That cab is the sort of thing I'd expect from a freeware model, not an official payware DLC. And there's some freeware out there that's better. I get that graphics aren't the most important thing, but that cab doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the quality of the product. The route itself looks fine; maybe they put all their effort into that and sort of threw the rolling stock together at the last minute? !*don-know!*

Totally agree.

When I buy a route I'm not buying assets. I consider any included assets as a bonus.
I'm always surprised that reviews of new routes usually focus more on included assets.

For me it's quite the opposite: everything that's in the package counts, wholly and separately. DTG's first African route, for example, featured mediocre rolling stock, among other poor features that I discovered in the process of writing a scenario for it. The route itself (scenery, structures, track, etc.) is the most important part of the package, but if other elements disappoint, the value of a well done route decreases exponentially. So, while I value Chacal's opinion, I beg to differ, which is the purpose of a forum, no?
!!howdy!!
