Probably because they're so old at this point.

So, the bargain basement is open for business, eh? Good for newcomers, perhaps, but they' may well be disappointed by the quality of some of that old stuff in comparison to most of today's DLC.

And then again they might be thrilled to be able to acquire the stuff on the cheap. That being if you are a cup half full instead of a cup half empty kind of person.

Horseshoe Curve for under $9 bucks seems like a great value, for either a new user, or even just for the assets.

I don't know what's wrong with HSC. There are dozens of good scenarios for it, included assets are great, there's a lot of DLC for it and there's a PRR version for almost all existing rolling stock. It was possibly the greatest value for the whole game, now it's even better at the reduced price.

If only I didn't already own EVERY item on there **!!bang!!** lol

That being said, I agree that this is definitely nice for newcomers... can spend some money saved on horseshoe curve on the sharknose or centipede now instead. **!!2cents!!**

Agreed! It is an excellent route. I love it. !!*ok*!!
And the K4 as well.
If you don't have any of those, go for them.

Great News! It's like another round of "TS Classics", I like it. !*salute*!

It sure is a lovely and atomospheric route. The only issue I have with it is the signaling system which is a bit, well, basic. Setting up switching / wayfreight scenarios can be an utter nightmare in some corners on the route. Other than that: one of my alltime favorite routes in TS. !!*ok*!!

Cheers
Michael

HSC is probably one of the most iconic railroad sites in America, and the PRR was a darn good railroad back in the day. Perhaps a modern day version of HSC extending to Conway would be a good route to go with the upcoming version of the game.

Back on topic, I think this is a smart business move for DTG, and for those that can wait I suspect you can see even further discounts on these discounts during the next sale. We shall see..

And they'll be essentially unsalable in September when TS2016 becomes a thing of the past. Try and squeeze those last few dollars out of them now.

Many of us will not be in any hurry to migrate to some new thing if it's not backward compatible. I was still using MSFS 2004 when they discontinued the whole thing because I had so many addons and third party stuff that wouldn't work with FSX. Don't be so sure that TS2016 in going to disappear as soon as this new wonder version comes out.

You're absolutely correct, but the many of us is a rather small proportion of the greater audience. I don't plan on upgrading immediately, I may even create a new folder to run TS2016 out of so I can keep my old stuff.

However, the majority will jump on the new game making the old DLC essentially unsalable as stated before. The people on TS2016 have all of the old stuff so we won't buy it, the rest have already moved on.

Based on the hints and speculations so far, my impression is that DTG will continue to support TS, at least in the sense that cache verification will still be possible and I agree with Buzz that backwards compatibility seems logical, if not necessary. "Wait and see" is a tough taskmaster!
