Marias Pass unavailible

Let me see if I can get this right. Marias Pass is not available outside of the US because of the licensing issue with BNSF? If that is so why don't they just put a generic version out for all of those that want this wonderful route like they did with the Racetrack?

Second question, could someone in the US like me buy the route and gift it to someone in some other country?

Please no trashing of DTG, just serious answers.

Buzz,
During the BNSF petition in Steam forums, that solution of publishing Marias and Stevens without rolling stock was proposed to DTG and there was at least an answer to myself, telling that it could be possible in the "future" releasing just the routes or those with other carriers.
Particularly I have an old US issued account and I pay either with a credit card or Paypal with a billing address in US. However as of yesterday I haven´t been able to see either Marias or Stevens listed in the DTG DLC, in the Store. **!!bang!!**

As of using the gift figure, in Steam it has been recently posted that this is not possible anymore with BNSF related stuff.
Until a few weeks ago you could buy Marias Pass in stores from Europe, but lately the download outside of US has been refused by the Steam download system and money has been returned by the store. It is possible there may be a trick but I am not aware of any. !**conf**!

You can use a VPN with a US server IP to see all of the BNSF items on the railsimulator website. I'm not sure if the combination of the VPN AND a credit card with a US billing address would be enough to get a purchase through Steam though !*don-know!*

I got it here (because it was on sale for $20 at the time), tho I am in the USA

http://www.gamersgate.com/DLC-MARIASP/t ... ass-add-on

You get a code and then go to steam and use "Activate A Product on Steam" and enter the code you get from gamersgate. What I don't know is: Will Steam allow you to download it if you aren't in the USA?

Marias Pass doesn't show up for me in that link after I log on. I live outside the US. I'm lucky I got Marias Pass and Stevens Pass before this silly situation started and have BNSF skinned locos.

I was in another forum somewhere recently and the answer was no. I think I might have made a rare trip to UKTrainsimulator.
They were trying to figure out how to help friends obtain BNSF routes through gifting and weren't having any luck.

Being as I have an inquiring mind, I'd sure like to know how this came about.

It did, not much time ago and after the BNSF ban by Steam and they sold a few Marias Pass (along other Europe stores). But not anymore.
However there are reports of some Amazon stores having the Marias Pass DLC. As of now it is available in Amazon US but you need a credit card with a US billing address to be able to buy any DTG DLC.

Stevens Pass is out of this world. I don´t have it. Majestic Falls will be in another life. !**conf**!

Qualifier: I'm in the US and I already own both Marias and Stevens Pass routes.

I tried to see the writing on the wall last week and I picked up the 3 remaining BNSF loco packs I didn't have.

This post prompted me to go back to the Steam Store (15 minutes ago) and look at the TS master DLC list (the one that shows all the DLC for a title and whether or not it is in your library). Everything that was shown as "In Library" for my account was there - except - Marias Pass and Stevens Pass. Neither of these routes were displayed AT ALL - either to be purchased or in my library.

So, being able to purchase these two routes in the US is suspicious at this point......

At least from what I see...

In my version of the Steam Store (browsing from the Netherlands) I can still see several DLC containing BNSF stock but there is a message saying "This DLC is only available to purchase in the USA."

This includes multi road name packs of old like GP9 Pack or SW1500 Pack.

Given that the issue is not about licensing fees, but rather a BNSF principle, I don't think DTG has the power to overturn BNSF's decision.

We'll have to wait and see how things evolve with TS2017 and USA content. Or wether Jointed Rail or Run 8 Studios are also ordered to quit selling BNSF outside the USA.

That's rather interesting. I just looked and both of these routes are still there in my library. You sure you looked at the list of the items that start with 'TrainSimlator' then the name of the route?

Just enter " BNSF" in the search box and see what comes up.

In the Netherlands' Steam Store there is also some unbranded Railroad X DLC in the right liveries but without road names .... Don't even know what Railroad X is !*don-know!*

Weird. I can see some BNSF stuff but not all. Marias Pass is gone in my listing/s, although it's still in my game to play.
I can't see Steven's Pass anymore.
Most of the related engine DLC is still there however.
